19世纪末，美、法、西班牙等国的冒险家，不畏路途遥远，携带刚刚问世的电影放映机和胶片，搭乘海船登陆上海。他们怀着对财富和成功的梦想，把电影的种子撒播到脚下这片新鲜而又神秘的土地。参观者可通过本展区的环形银幕，感受西方冒险家眼中的上海之旅。同时，展柜中陈列的28本40年代的电影剧本，也为参观者了解电影的成长发展提供了原始佐证。
